Our band and orchestra programs provide students the experience of learning a new instrument and progressing to an advanced level with several performance opprtunities throughout the year. Our chorus program provides a variety of singing experiences for students. Students learn the leadership and collaboration skills needed for life outside the chorus room. Our Dance department offers dance at several levels, including an audition only dance team. Students have several full scale performance opportunities a year. Our Case Magnet program offers students the opportunity to grow as a leader through advanced STEAM coursework. Students will progress through the Project Lead the Way curriculum, helping studentts problem solve and collaborate with others. In addition, students are encouraged to take an honors track of courses and are enrolled in a Magnet specific emerging leaders course their 8th grade year, culminating with a community immpact project. Lockhart Middle School offers several opportunities for Advanced Learning. Students can earn High School credit by taking Algebra 1, Geometry, and Physical Science Honors. Students can earn industry certifications by taking Digital and Information Technology or our Business/Entrepreneurship track. Our advanced performing and visual arts students have performed in the community, at competitions, and local art shows. Our Multilingual Department works with our students and families to provide the supports needed when learning a new language. Students have specific courses geared towards English Learning, participate in the OCPS Multilingual Spelling Bee, and after school clubs such as Latinos in Action.
